As some may know, I buy WWE Games yearly when they release. Most recently it was WWE 2K14. I was looking forward to it like usual when it was first announced. Trailer looked good, entrances looked good, gameplay looked better than '13's. I remember my first match, I used Seth Rollins and his move set was spot on. One of my favorites to use. Others being Daniel Bryan, CM Punk & Justin Gabriel. I forgot who I was against, but it was likely someone I don't care for, but I do remember it being a pretty good, fast paced match that I ended up winning. But before I get into the review, I just wanna point out I don't bother with any of the creation stuff in the games. I do, but only for trophies, but not enough time in them to give a review about them. Sorry. This year instead of the Attitude Era Story Mode we got in '13, we got the 30 Years of Wrestlemania (due to Wrestlemania 30 happening a few months later on), which featured old classic matches all the way from Wrestlemania 1 to 29. Each match let's you reenact moments that happened during each match, and giving that nice realism type feel to it which was nice. However, it wasn't as long as you'd expect. I beat it within a day. It was a real good story mode, but not real long. A.I was a big improvement. After Smackdown vs Raw 2011 where the A.I was unbelievably stupid, and easy to beat, and by easy to beat, I mean about 2 minutes. By stupid, I mean they rarely performed moves, finishers or reversed anything you did. Anyway, back to the point. Ever since '11, A.I has been a main, or one of the main focuses in '12, '13 & of course '14. Each year it got better. They're on the right track when it comes to A.I. It's still not up to par like it should be, but it IS tough if you set the difficulty up to Hard or Legend. Speaking of TOUGH A.I's. That brings me to "Defeat The Streak" where you have to face against the Undertaker to end his 21-0 undefeated streak. You wanna talk about tough A.I? They made 'Taker unbelievably hard to defeat. It took me about 5 tries to win, and I finally did it with *sigh* John Cena. You get a trophy for beating him, and if you're a trophy hunter (like me, and like I always mention), you're gonna have to defeat 'Taker FIFTEEN TIMES! Yes, a total of fifteen times with each of his Wrestlemania "victims" to unlock exclusive photos from the events and for one of hardest trophies in the game. Good luck with that. I did it, did you? Can you? Universe Mode made it's return to WWE 2K14. This year, featuring rivalries giving you the ability to set up rivalries, how long they last, who's in them and it'll end up all coming to an end at a PPV for the championship (if there's one involved) or a special match. You can create, disband or edit tag teams, change out the championships for the older versions of the same championship belt or swap them out for another championship, vacate titles, edit who's on what brand (RAW, Smackdown, NXT or whatever show YOU made yourself). Universe Mode's been good each and every year with a little more being added each time. It still needs improvement Reversing system has been improved a bit too. It's still fairly easy every year, but it's also on the right track. I personally wish they'd go back to the L2 & R2 reversal system. L2 to reverse strikes, R2 to reverse grapples instead of R2 to reverse ANYTHING. That'll be one way to make it a bit harder, guys. Reversal System: 6/10 A.I: 7.5/10 Universe Mode: 8/10 30 Years of Wrestlemania: 7/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Overall: 7/10 ~ Geno
