Warface is an online First Person Shooter developed by Crytek. The game revolves around co-op and competitive multiplayer and running through various missions with friends or people you meet on the game. The game is free to play but has micro-transactions such as the ability to buy skins for your character, weapons, misc items and most importantly the biggest negative comment i have for the game "resurrection coins" these coins are the only way you can be revived in the game other than if a medic revives you. The fact you literally have to purchase your respawn's is a very huge step back for games, in the recent wake of EA demos popping up online with price tags, this is not what the game industry wants the image of. The free to play aspect of the game is fairly fine, you get in-game currency for completing missions successfully this currency can be spent on a limited number of items in the cash shop, but some are rather expensive compared to the rate at which you get coins. The gameplay is fairly straight forward, the co-op multiplayer has your team exits the helicopter, run through a map of not a huge size but it's not too small, until reaching the extraction point in which you move to the next stage of the mission. Missions have various stages that the players must complete to reach the extraction point at the end of the mission. The game mechanics are similar to that of Battlefield, Call of Duty and Counter-Strike. Certain classes have the ability to replenish ammo, revive players, or rebuild body armour on the fly, similar to that of battlefield with medics and engineers. The competitive multiplayer is similar to that of other First Person Shooters with standard modes such as team deathmatch and plant the bomb which is similar to the counterstrike mode. The game runs on the CryEngine however you would not tell this as during the missions I ran through it just looked like I was playing CS. The cash shop is the biggest complaint about the game, i understand free to play game must make their money somewhere and a cash shop is seen regularly in most free to play games, mostly MMO games. However the model used in this game is shameful, the fact players must pay for respawn's in the co-op modes is pitiful. Also some cash shop items such as some weapons have a limited time, one weapon was 250 premium coins but you only got this weapon for 7 days before having to pay again. In a personal opinion the cash shop at least for the Steam Beta is very badly done and it makes the game feel more like a money grab than a game you would want to play. On a positive note the multiplayer aspect of the game when you aren't lagging due to your or another players connection can be entertaining and the competitive multiplayer is just like any other game, either you enjoy it or you don't. Overall I would recommend playing this game only if you enjoy first person shooters and want to ignore the cash shop and wont get killed too often in co-op modes. But in a personal opinion i will not be playing this game again and have recently uninstalled it. The game just wasn't worth playing, i know players enjoy the game but i would rather play a finished game instead of a free to play money grab, and that is what playing that game felt like. There was constant advertisement for cash shop items which just degraded the gaming experience. Gameplay - 6/10 Graphics - 6/10 Gaming Experience - 4/10 Cash Shop (Due to it being a free to play game and this playing such a big role) - 0/10 Overall Rating - 3/10
